Decathlon sought to complete a redesign of its existing IT systems to enable its teams to access the richest available insight and data on the company’s performance and activities, while ensuring it was making the most of available technologies and analytics capabilities to better inform decision making across its operations.
Delivering a complex redesign of the company’s IT functions required a comprehensive understanding of information collected by the company, and the ways it was utilised across the organisation to inform approaches by which functionality and usability could be optimised to enhance performance outcomes. This included assessing a large number of information systems in use by the company, including its supplier repository, document processing and storage systems, price repository, and data on purchasing orders and logistics.
Maltem deployed expertise in systems requirement analysis and solutions design and engineering to support Decathalon in assessing the specific functionality and workflows needed for the new solution, informing its development.
This included facilitating requirements analysis workshops with staff and monitoring performance of the new system across numerous functional areas including logistics, finance and sales. Maltem also provided support to project teams across Decathlon and its core service providers to support data exchange to enable the project’s success.
