Cloud Engineer – Kubernetes

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Cloud engineer to help our client deliver new platform capabilities leveraging various big data technologies as well as Kubernetes.

Your work will be varied and include deploying new tools on AWS infrastructure and/or Kubernetes, conducting PoCs to assess new technologies, automating manual tasks, and enhancing the platform CI/CD pipeline.

Our projects are mostly long-term from 6 months to 2 years. During that time, we will discuss your career progression, training that you can undertake and make sure you keep learning through your engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Building, testing, and deploying cloud and Kubernetes-based big data solutions leveraging both commercial and open-source tools.
  • Setting up and managing Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure.
  • Developing programs and scripts to automate manual tasks.
  • Streamlining the platform’s CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ensure the platform’s technical documentation is up to date.

Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of several of the core AWS services (S3, IAM, EC2, RDS, EKS, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A Tertiary degree in IT or a similar subject
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Presto, Airflow or Ranger is a plus
